LOIS GRECO

"Music has always been a great part of my life. As far back as I can remember my brother and I were exposed to all kinds of music. My mother would rock us to sleep at night with her beautiful soothing voice, singing us into heavenly bliss. I was always drawn to the blues and at the age of six, I wrote my first blues tune.

My beloved dog "Major" had been hit by a car and killed. Through my tears, I wrote a song about the loss of my little friend. I found that by chanting this song over and over, I was able to cope with the pain. I soon realized that writing songs and poems was a way for me throughout my life to express all kinds of intense emotions.

I grew up spending much of my youth in a Pentecostal church, where the love of God was freely and passionately expressed through dancing and singing in the "Spirit". Through this experience and through the love and compassion that my parents showed to all they came in contact with, I was able to learn about faith, the acceptance of others and the power of God's Love. I brought a need to passionately express myself through my college years where I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. I then moved to New York and was cast in the Broadway musical "Grease". When I left the show after a year, I began singing in jazz and blues clubs throughout New England. I moved to Boston and studied at Berklee College of Music. My brother, Earl Greco and I, along with the entire band then made the move to Los Angeles, where I continued doing the club scene and becoming involved in film and television with roles on "Days of Our Lives" and "General Hospital" and a number of episodic series. I began writing and singing for feature films, TV and radio. A number of my films are currently running on HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and USA. This "Surrender" CD, which I have produced, is a compilation of 10 of my originals and one remake of and old blues tune. I am thrilled with the members of my current band. They are incredible musicians whose heart and soul bring life to my music!"
